UAG Folio RED CASE IPHONE 6s REVIEW

Review of Urban Armour Gear Folio for Apple iPhone 6s Review

The good people at UAG sent me a case for my 6s. I like a tough case. I like it to be slim. I like it to protect, and to be usable . So lets see what this case is like.

Review:

On opening the box, the first thing you notice is how light the folio case is. Compared to the armoured cases I usually use , this one seemed light. It also felt very grippy. With the vast amount of the case being rubberised , there is little chance that it would slip from your hand. The case has reinforced corners-these are noticeable from the rest of the case as they do protrude slightly. However they don’t take away from the look of the case. The case looks god, and in red it is really vibrant and quite striking.

The case has a hinged front , and the front has space for 3 credit cards. This is quite good. Who needs a wallet nowadays? What with apple pay, and contactless cards etc.

So the case has space for cards. Useful. The inner side of the front cover is covered in velvet, so even if you did have cards in there they would not scratch your screen due to the velvet. So thats great.

The phone sits snugly in the Folio. The sides give just enough flex to get your device in. When its in, its in. Its a good fit with no chance of it coming out. The front cover clips over the screen and is secured by the little flap. There is a weak magnet in there-just strong enough to keep the case closed.  When its closed it is a lovely thing. Nice and protected. The phone is easy to use as there is no fake screen in front of the device. This means you are touching the apple screen. A thing of beauty , and something best used as is-without a cheap plastic case screen in front of it. The other good thing that is also bad is the ports and camera. The camera is provided for simply with a cut out. There is no glass or plastic in front of the lens-so great. The pictures will be stunning. Bad because its open to the elements and the grit in your pocket. It may well scratch…I say may-the 6s uses sapphire crystal, so it may not… But it may.

The main downside to the case is the ports. They are all open, there are no bungs or covers for them. SO if you use your phone as I do whilst cycling (music) the phone will get sweaty, damp, and potentially ruin your phone. I say may again as the 6s is far more weather sealed than apple like to let on. But for me, its too open. I use the griffin summit survivor, and to me its pretty great at keeping moisture out.

The folio is a great case. For those that want something protective, without making it stand out as a “brick” for me its too casually protected.

None the less, a great protective case. I really like it, if i was less clumsy-this would be ideal. There is a short video UAG REVIEW
